rayo
After calling at a farm a couple of months ago the farmer took my phone number but as i had not heard anything i decided to give him another call to see if i can get permission to shoot. So i called yesterday afternoon and was told to call back when the Pheasant season ends as the landowner and a few of his mates have got a small shoot on the land and did not want the birds disturbed' the farmer also said he had some trouble last year with Pigeons on the spring rape So i will be calling back as soon as the season ends after so many knock backs im hopeing this is it !!! What do you guys think does it look good?

ROBLATCH
you never know rayo.you could be waiting on a goldmine mate.some of the farmers up our way are a little wary of who to let on their land.i hit lucky for the farmer ive been shooting for over 10 yrs now,he's one of the good ones.ive recently recomended another member of pw to gain permision off the farmer i shoot for and after a few words between ourselves he agreed but farmers like this are few and far between today. good luck mate. rayo
I hope it comes to something. My experience with the farmers i have asked is if they dont want you on they refuse permision there and then so him asking me to call back at the end of the season gives me hope
ROBLATCH
yep i agree. if it was a blatant NO then you know whare you stand with him.the good point is he has taken your number and asked you to cal back. ps if he's not too far away from you try speaking to him face to face some farmers prefer this. Suffolk shooter
All the best in the new year, as you mentioned already, if he wasn't going to let you on, then he would have just said no. A farmer is to busy to keep having somebody he isn't going to let shoot on the land, keep phoning him back. SS

DaveK
I wouldn't worry too much. He did mention problems on spring rape after all. I had a similar answer a couple of years ago. I was told there was a game syndicate on and to come back when the season finished. I did and picked up his farm, his dads and his brothers with the instructions not to shoot any feathered game and to be careful in the following seasons. No probs, you don't abuse a 1000+ acres if you want to keep it. Dave
