Beretta 687
Hi all i know this subject has been flogged to death but I was just curious. I’m not asking anyone to research into this but just wondering if there was someone on this forum who already knows the answer. So I have a multi choke beretta 687 sporting made in 1994 and was wondering if it’s HP steel proof. I’ve already spent hours on the internet and can’t seem to match the stamps with the HP steel proof. I do realise it’s standard steel proof but would Appreciate any answers thanks! Scully
If there’s no fleur delys, then it’s not HP steel shot proofed.
TOPGUN749
I have the same 687mc sporter made in 1989,and no it’s not proofed for steel as steel ammunition was unheard of 34 years ago. However I will use it with standard steel loads if lead becomes not available using a maximum of half choke! Pushandpull
Steel shot zones were introduced in the USA about 1976. Folk used Berettas and other good makes back then and they use them today - without the protection of a fleur-de-lys stamp. Make your own decision.
