scolopax
I keep reading there is a big oversupply of poults this year. is there going to be some very cheap birds in the next couple of months as producers try to offload stock? Arley
I have also heard this and there does seem to be some deals to be had however I have not seen many shoots dropping there prices, we have been quoted at least 10% increase per bird for the coming season with the exception of a local shoot that produces some good pheasants and some excellent partridges still charging £43 per bird including food. Lots of shoots trying to make up for the lean years down to Covid and the scarcity of poults last season, so far been a good summer for rearing and also for the cover crops locally the weather has been ideal. Arley
Several shoots in my area moth balled during Covid and then came back last year with more ducks but no partridges, this season seems back to normal but with bigger days the norm, several shoots are 200 birds days minimum and also 10 guns in the line at +£60 per bird Will personally be shooting less but working the dogs more
