We have a Lavandula border which has been covered in several different types of Bumble bee for weeks now.

My musings yesterday considered whether some may remember the food source and return next year.

I was wide of the mark by a long distance. My delve into melittology revealed that these worker Bumbles work themselves to death within four weeks of emerging.

I will make the most of their beauty and energy whilst they are with us.
