But the carparks overflowing due to the doctors nurses and reception staff at our surgery you are forced to park on the road across from the surgery and it has a descent sized car park , Theres 6 doctors and 4 work part time so the wages must be good enough

It is 'hidden' round the back, but when they instituted a 'one way' system for patients during Covid, you exited the building via the staff car park and walked round to the patients car park. Two things were noticeable; There were considerably more cars in the staff car park. The 'average value' of cars in the staff car park was probably considerably higher with both newer cars and more expensive models there. OK, some patients can walk there, but I'm guessing some staff can as well? It is likely that a significant portion of patients will be elderly/retired - whereas clearly staff are of 'working age'. Our has a separate staff car park as well but its on a lower level and they have to climb two flights of stairs to access the back door so guess who parks in the row next to the surgery ?. Reminds me of going for an appointment at cardiology with the consultant. I was running a bit late as there were no parking spaces (don't you just love hospital visits?) and it was on the third floor ........... and the lift was out of order. Consultant (who clearly had a sense of humour) asked if I had found the lift at the other end of the block OK? I told him I'd come up the stairs (which I had). Reply was to the effect of if I could do 3 flights of stairs - I'd passed the real test - but he still had to do the 'official tests' to be able to file the results!
