A couple of years ago we took the grandson to Scone Palace for a pumpkin after charging a tenner each to get in and i am sure they where Tesco pumpkins double the price plus some , My daughter says i am sure  dad could grow these ,Next year  i grew a bunch of small pumpkins  we tried and liked pumpkin pie for a while . This year although it took two sowing i got 6 giant pumpkin seedlings i put them in six half barrels then put 7 tubs of second early potatoes in front of them and seven tubs of first early potatoes in front of them . It seems the two of us cant eat the potatoes fast enough as these pumpkins are taking over covering the tatties and looking for covering the drive there's little pumpkins on them but i am worried its August what they got left till the frost comes 8/10 weeks . Has anybody grown them ? is there still time to get a good sized pumpkin from them ?>

Feed and water them, they need quite a bit of both. Pick 1 good pumpkin per vine and bin the rest if going for size. I grew squashes last year, had some the size of beach balls doing that. Pumpkins get bug quick if you look after them.

Doing Butternut squash this year but haven't given them any time really due to work.

Think i have been too good to them there spreading all over the place i saw the female flowers and looked for a male flower to pollinate them but the male flowers for some reason come out before the female ones , Theres some fruit on them but they are the size of golf balls so i dont know if they are going to make any size ?
