welshruger
I have been invited to clear some land of Geese next weekend and was wondering if anyone could suggest what type of 12 bore cartridges are needed for Geese.

starlight32
46g of No1 in a 3.5" case (if your gun allows) for in flight shooting. You will probably be decoying so you you can drop down a bit.
v-max
Depends on the way you are shooting them ie decoying or high flighting. In Scotland we can use lead in land as long its not going to land in water.the normal kind of load would be 36g/42g of No.3 in 2.3/4" or 3" chamber for decoying. For high geese i shoot 50g 3" chamber No.2-1 & BB's.If your gun can take 3.5" its up to you but a 3" cartridge is cheaper & easyer to aquire.
