Chamber size for geese

I wonder why so many want a semi auto for fowling?   I have had them and did not get on with them... the this shot is often just throwing money away after birds.  if you generally use a OU then why not get an OU for fowling?  I have seen a ND due to a person not being used to the SA and firing it with a 3rd round still in the gun rather than empty.  personally it is the ease of changing cartridges on a OU when geese turn up is a huge advantage

I had 3 greylags dead in the air at the same time on Monday morning, but usually the third cartridge is reserved for cleaning up if one of the first two didn't connect fully.

 

The advantage of the single sight plane combined with reduced recoil especially with heavy loads is the prime advantages
