Keith 66
An interesting article i picked up that was posted on The Airgun forum, It would seem that Tunsten alloys are likely to be highly carcinogenic. Link here, https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/15929896/, It states further research needed but it does not look good. Smudger687
Its highly dependent on the nature of the alloy. Nickel and cobalt are known carcinogens which were both present in the tungsten alloy used in this study. TSS is a combination of tungsten, nickel and iron. Whether or not it is carcinogenic is not clear, I suspect it probably is, but embedment in muscle isn't something that the shooter needs to be concerned with. 1Ab
The only tungsten I have known to be carcinogenic is thoriated tungsten i.e tig welding rods they are radioactive. Fairly safe outside the body, not safe once inside the body.
