Mr.C Posted Tuesday at 16:41 Report Share Posted Tuesday at 16:41 Well here goes and apologies for the long post. We currently have a 13yo JR dog which is extremely placid which is very much Mrs C's dog, and we have my 7yo Patterdale bitch. She's not aggressive but she is the boss. Can happily ignore other dogs unless they start when she's on the lead. Usually bigger dogs as little yappy things are ignored. In short she's a terrier. Now we'd like another dog, the JR isn't getting any younger. Advice please on the sort of breeds we should be looking at to live with a neutered female Patterdale. I've done a little online research and all I've read is don't do it as you've got a Patterdale so you're ********. Small to med sized would be ideal. It would be a house dog. Many thanks for any advice.

12gauge82
A submissive male would likely be your best bet. No need to worry about breeds too much provided you select the right dog. A rescue dog could be ideal as you have a already mature dog and see what you have. You could also take one on a trail basis to ensure it's going to work before you commit.
