Yep, O/U 12 bore multichoke 28" or 30" barrels (depending on height and gun fit) and if you can go for 3" chambers and barrels proofed for steel (chrome lined are better too).

 

If you can get a gun for a reasonable price (bear in mind most folk change their first gun after a couple of years - so no point spending a fortune) filling the above description then you should not want more from your gun regardless of type of shooting you do. O/U's are very accepted at game shoots now, multichoke gives you a good variety of choice and allows you to experiment (although once you have found the right ones your happy with - important in the first year or so - you'll probably stick with them!), 3" chambes will allow you to shoot the vast majority of cartridges (e.g. from rough shooting to foxing), steel proofed barrels will allow you to go into wildfowling over water if you so wish....but THE most important thing is it has to fit right. :good: Ask the dealer and also dry mount the gun to get an good idea.
