Fishing

Hi guys.  :D

I watched a program about fishing that William had recommended, and it looked like quite good fun.  I know that Cranfield and some of the other guys fish so I was just looking for a bit of advice on having a go.

I've had a go at beachcasting and fishing off a boat, but these guys were fishing in rivers (I'm sure there's a proper name for it).  What sort of kit do you need to have a go at this type of fishing?  How do you get started?   :D

PS: Has everyone cleared off to the chat room or what??

Steve, your location will influence what kind of fishing you take up initially.

If you live in Birmingham, sea fishing is going to be hard work,

if you live on the Norfolk Broads river fishing would be easiest, get the idea ? :D

What ever you decide to do, visit your local tackle shop and talk to them.

If you are freshwater fishing you will probably have to join a Club, there is very little free fishing left in England (not like Ireland).

Trout fishing can be quite expensive and is a bit specialised for a novice.

Sea fishing has advantages, its mainly free, you can usually eat what you catch and its not too hard to learn the techniques.

I freshwater, sea and trout fish in the UK, Southern Ireland,USA and Northern Spain.

Its great fun, you can go on your own or with friends, its relaxing, exciting and you get to visit some really beautiful places.

If you have some specific questions I would be only too pleased to help out.
