gibby
I was given some steel carts to use the other week instead of lead as they were £10 cheaper per case. Now my barrels are proofed for steel shot but what about the chokes? I have the extended optima beretta chokes. Any ideas? Gibby
JRDS
1/2 choke is the tightest you should use with steel I believe.
myuserid
Your chokes should say proofed for steel shot on the side. If not they probably aren’t, so dont use them.
Wookie
Check first, but as far as I can remember, the Optima extended chokes _are_ proofed for steel. Take them out and look for the "SP" markings on the sizing part. And, as has already been said, a more open choke is your friend, although if you are using the stell gamebore stuff, the info that comes with them says that you can use pretty much anything with them.
