I have searched and can not find them. So if someone could please help me out. I have a fallow deer antler that I plan on using for a piece of artwork for my Mother Inlaws Christmas presant. It is however a little greyish and dull, what I would like to do is clean it white and then give it the deep chestnut color. henry d Posted December 15, 2007 Report Share Posted December 15, 2007 Bleach with domestic bleach or hydrogen peroxide, then wash and allow to dry, then use a solution of permanganate of potash, this looks weird as it stains the antler purple which fades to brown. Thanks H, 2 questions, can I get permanganate of potash at the chemist or is it sorced somewhere else?, and how long for the purple to go to brown?
