triggerhappy
hi im looking for a .22 air rifle to get UNDER 100 quid. i need high power, 10ft/lbs or more will do. I dont like the B2 because of its stock, but anything else will do, as long as its got the power, is not a junior one, and will last me. I will do a lot of plinking and i want something powerful enough to tear up boards of wood and cream glass bottles, but i will also hunt rats and pigeons. i want high accuracy and good range, and i'm not too worried about recoil (i can easily handle an AK-47) and im not really that bothered about noise. any suggestions? BOLTA
Hi, First of all. You won´t get much gun under £100 and certainly not a new gun that can handle the things you want it to do !!! So I am giving you a choice here either you pay more for the gun or you don´t use it for hunting / pest control. But just for ordinary plinking. Second. The recoil from a spring gun can not be compared to a real rifle or a pcp airgun. The recoil will go forward and back a couple of times before the pellet leaves the barrel. This means you need to have a longer follow through time to get accuracy out of a spring gun than a real rifle. If you can´t master this you will never get good accuracy out of any springers !!! Cheers - Bolta

roblade
hi trigger, dont think you will get the rifle you want in the sub £100 bracket :( but you might pick one up for a little bit more second hand! about £150 will get you a decent little outfit including scope, mounts bag and rifle. the meteor though a nice rifle will not compare to anything you can get for the same price second hand! check out the local feed ads (or wherever the big yellow paper is called in your area) but look out for hw77 and air arms tx200 people bought these many years ago paid £100 and now they think they are worth less than they paid not knowing that the price of them second hand is acctually more than they paid new!!!! if you see something decent in there pop a question on here shouldnt take too long to get a reply hope this helps ROB
PTaylor2k4
http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/ind...t=ST&f=7&t=4692 JUST A THOUGHT!
Vulcha
Stone me Trigger, have you been plinking with a AK 47? Go for a supersprt mnate. Accurate and hard hitting. Then get a 4x40 hawke sport hd scope, and you will have a decent combo for about £
Bill&Ben
I've got a lightning, which is the model up from a supersport with a sizeable silencer for sale. I suppose I can let it go for £110 + post to introduce another person into the sport. It's certainly powerful enough for all your needs. I can even put on a laser for a bit more, then you can shoot from the hip! If you're interested, PM me. Ben
roblade
hi trigger as has been said before you wont find the rifle your loking for in this price bracket new but you shouldnt have trouble findin one this sort of price second hand. i picked up a HW80 in rough condition for £100 the stock had a few scratches on it and a little beaten up, but the action was very good! using open sites can hit golf balls at 50 yards! and more than enough poke to take out rabbits at 35 yards. the good hing about this rifle is you just wont care about it getting more knocks in the field! i might also klnow someone selling a HW57 running about 11F/lbs its underlever with a pop up breech and scoped, last i heard they were asking for £140 including postage. but if you do wan to go the new route you should have a look at the cometa range epecially the fenix have seen one at the club think it was about £140 new was under powered when bought but a quick call and parts were recieved free of charge to bring it up to full power cocking effort on it is amazingly easy for a full power rifle. but the best sujestion i can give is get your but to an airgun club and try as many rifles as you can, most the time at the clubs you will find someone somewhere with a rifle to sell. not to mention all the pretty toys that they would let you play with ther are pleanty of options to have a look at before parting with your cash some good some bad but checking out whats out there before he cash l;eaves your hand minght save you a bit of bother hope this helps you out a little ROB
