ShaggyRS6
Just a quickie from me. I was out in the fog (not shooting) a couple of days ago and was talking for ages with the farmer about various bits and peices. On me I had my iPhone which has built in Google Maps, you can view in either street or satellite mode. I showed the farmer the phone and he was impressed, better still he was able to point out all the land around him, who the land owners were and where they lived I called on a couple and got permission to shoot into a neighbours land from the permission I have, I have a few more door to knock over the comming weeks. Great tool.
Guest The Outlaw
Good thinking batman, I hate new fangled things but I am starting to see some good uses for them now. Father Christmas might be going to Argos next year for me instead of the surplus store. Tony

Dirty Harry
I have OS maps of the areas I shoot. They don't go wrong, never loose signal and also fit easily into the pocket of my shooting jacket. I bet they did not cost as much as an iphone. ShaggyRS6
Its smaller than a set of OS maps. It fits in my pocket, never goes wrong and never looses the signal. You got me on cost though, however, its a phone
Dirty Harry
You got me on cost though, however, its a phone I go shooting to get away from the phone! Harry
Big_Sam
I have had Google maps/earth on my motorola l7 for ages now, no need for those overpriced bricks! But you cant beat a good old 1:25000 os map, I got a new a shoot just by showing it to a farmer who was pleased that it showed the fields. Result! Try that on your iBrick

Big_Sam
Ariel photography is jolly useful, I made a huge composite of my chaps land (1.4x1m) and he went over it marking on the best places to shoot, very useful. Not exactly pocket sized though.....
