Dr W
We have a wealthy elderly client whon is losing her marbles a bit and has sent off about £30k to one of these scams and is absolutely convinced that she will win millions. Very sad and we are helping her kids get power of attorney before she gives it all away.
al4x
Thats the irritating bit about these scams. I'm pretty happy that I'd not fall for any of them but and this is the big but. My mum who obviously isn't that IT concious and is just starting on e-mail and the web would be quite likely to fall for one of the bogus ones asking you to re-confirm your online bank details etc. Some of those and the ebay ones do look very convincing and ok we all know no one sends you an e-mail with a link to log into but its convincing people who aren't that IT literate to do the same. Dr W
The 419eater website is brilliant, I have just wasted 1.5 hours reading a couple, I really should do some work but feeling hungover so might have a bacon butty and read a few more.
