viking
hi guys, im after buying a second hand sxs for between £200-£400 dont really want to spend more than that as it might not get used all that much, iv had a good look about in shops and on gun trader and see them from £50-£xxx and all sorts of names that iv never heard of, so i have no idea on waht to get, i will be wanting to get the gun locally from either swillington gun supplies or kelbrook shooting lodge, any help on what name and price would be a masive help, thanks, lee
Everhopefull
Hello Viking, One of my shotguns is a AYA no 4, it's a lovely shotgun, well made, light, which makes it ideal for carrying all day roughshooting. I've always used 32g shells, which perhaps are a bit of the heavy side for such a light gun, but I'm a fairly big chap and only after a hundred odd shells do I notice my shoulder protesting a little. I'm going to get some 28g shells before long and try them. Make sure that if you buy one of them or any other shotgun, you know what the chokes are. My Aya is I believe, full and 3/4 which have given me some amazing high birds but perhaps too tightly choked for rough shooting. I believe if you look on GUNTRADER you will find many examples of Aya's for sale, also in the sale sections of shooting magazines there are often one for sale, it's most probably the most popular sxs made. Hope this of some help too you in your choice, but try your choice of gun out when ever possible, remember there's thousands more out there, so no need to jump at the first! Hardy
Another vote for the Sabel - I picked up an ejector version from Swillington in November for £100. It could do with a bit of cleaning up but thats a job for February! It works well, is a lot lighter & a lot cheaper to cary round our shoot than my Black Ice.
