Mungler
Reminds me of when I was young, we put a pound or so of carbide in a fox hole with a bucket full of water, blocked the hole, and waited untill fumes were visible at another hole, we then threw a match in. Very impressive! We raced home to change our underpants, all of the neighbours were talking about it, it even made the local rag, it was put down as an unexploded WW2 bomb detonating! That was 52 years ago, and this is the first time that I have mentioned it! Bob, I like your style. You just can't beat bonfires and blowing stuff up.
webber
Gentlemen My initial assessment of the product is that it would be quite simple to manufacture an equivalent product. However we /I need to consider possible patent protection, and the fact that it would seem virtually impossible to use one in the UK legally. I quite like my bank balance the way it is thank you, and dont care for porridge. webber
webber
Oh my God. I have just read about the carbide. I dont intend to do the calculations, I dont need to. You can have no idea as to how much acetylene gas that quantity would have made. I hope that you ignited it and ran like hell, because that would really be some bang. Did you go back to examine the crater? webber

Actually there are still signs of the crater today, 50-odd years later!
