Fitting a T8 reflex

I have a heavy barrelled .223 that is screw cut for a moderator. I saw a T8 reflex that had been proofed for a .223 and grabbed it, (£80 and no rust that I could see! clean inside etc.) Any how, my local RFD ordered me a new barrel bush and rang me to tell me it was in, I collected and the mod and went home all excited!!!. It was only when I got home and tried to slip the moderator on I realised the problem with my plan!!! Normal sized hole in the over barrelled section of the mod and a barrel thats over sized.....any ideas??

Hi

Just had my .223 Remington shortened by 5 inches which made the T12 Pes inner, touch the outside of the barrel. Had to take off a really, really small amount off the outside of the barrel.You can't see anything and the mod now sits really tidy and comes to a dead stop when screwed up tight (hope this makes sense) and helps

Gunsmith + lathe (the mod, not the barrel)

Should take about 5 mins including fitting to gun.

Easy.

I cant see why it doesnt fit, i have a heavy varmit barrelled sako 75 and its got an older T8 on it!!!! - screwcut is a 5/8th Unef and only the delrin bush has been bored out to fit the barrel ( nothing on the actual moderator has been touched).

Precisly what I meant.

Would rather have it fitted to my rifle than spend the cash on a different one! it is only out but the smallest of margins. I'm tempted to run a dremel with a sanding drum up the inside of mod over the weld as thats where it seems to be touching. Rather that than savage the outside of my barrell :mad: Or I could sell it (thanks for the offer plinker!) but then I'm gonna end up with a standard can on the end that will make my rifle too long for my liking.

:rolleyes::good::wub: It's Sorted!!!!! :lol::lol::lol:

On closer inspection with a borescpe, on the welded seam on the inside of the mod there was a small blob of weld!! removed the weld with a dremel sanding drum on the end of a home made extension shaft and voila! slips on nice and snug, bush turned out on a lathe, and spot on! all good. Just got to try it now!!!
