Ferretboy111
Well i managed to finally convince the farmer's wife where i work to let me trim up a few drakes from the pond/moat they have. There has been 50+ mallard feeding on there recently, so set my hide up a few days before i shot it and had been feeding it every evening 3-4 days before. They came straight into the wind behind the trees and attemepted to land straight towards me. Alot more came in than i thought, on the first trip out i managed to bag: 11, 8 drakes and 3 hens And the next day i managed to bag 5, 4 drakes and a hen. Hopefully it will be a regular thing to do every year. Was very exciting. All shot with number 4 bismuth eley cartridges from a 12bore beretta 687. Mungler
Nice bag there Alex. It would be nice to secure that as a regular fixture - you prepared one and dropped it round to the farmer's wife?
Ferretboy111
Certainly did gave them 8 breasts. Gave away all but 4 breasts, to many of the people who have helped me out with various things.
scolopax
What was wrong with plucking them and giving a decent bird for the oven??
Ferretboy111
Have about 6 birds in my freezer which are all plucked and dressed ba, + i shoot and gut/pluck so many animals it gets rather annoying when they just sit in the freezer for months. Ferretboy111
No problems, i stand corrected. Would have invited another gun but farmer's wife said just me to shoot. Alex
