shooting mad
hi can any one help ? i have a beretta 3 shot auto with 5 chokes white, green, black, yellow red which one would be best for pigeon shooting from 25 yards to 40 yards?.i use the green choke for clays and this works very well, but use the red for pigeons but do miss a lot ,i use no.6 clear pigeon shells. i shot a pigeon today at 30 yards ish and put a hole in the side of it making me think the shot patten is two tight at 30 yards. i would be very grateful for any advice thanks Clive. Catamong
Stick with the green, which is approx half choke, and you won't go far wrong. Cat.
Stu S
Personally I would use the green or gold one (1/2 or 1/4) at that range. Much more and you would risk blasting a hole in them as you have done already. When pigeon shooting in the summer I had the gun set with 1/4 3/4 chokes, and tended to use the 1/4 for close range and 3/4 for more distance. Stu S
Oddly, I have just looked at the choke colours, and it seems that the Red one is Skeet choke. Very peculiar that that choke would do that level of damage at that range. Anyway, for info, here is the full list of Beretta chokes, colours, and notches. English Letter Notch Beretta Colours Full F * White 3/4 IM ** Black 1/2 M *** Green 1/4 IC **** Yellow Skeet SK None Red Cylinder CL ***** Blue Stu

Chard
I bought a white one and an extra black one tonight    I'm trying to discipline myself into shooting straight, instead of spraying the clay ground willy-nilly It'll be like trying to shoot a clay with a sniper rifle
