Bought some last week for 58p ltr in 15 litre container been running my isuzu on filtered used cooking oil with 10% or so unleaded added to thin it, been running fine now for 6 months, 22 lts of fuel for around �2-�2.50 Not such a good idea to thin with petrol, as you will be reducing the lubricating effect of the oil, better to use diesel Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
EvoCars Posted February 4, 2008 Report Share Posted February 4, 2008 vegatbale oil is a better lubricant than diesel, old castrol r racing oil was made from vegtable oils, so its perfectly ok for the injection pump, bosch pumps like on the isuzu are fine with it, some older types like lucas/cav pumps will break tho if run on cooking oil, you dont need no where near as much petrol as you do diesel to get the consistancy down Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

As mentioned the supermarkets have cottoned on and you can bet a pinch of sugar they will ask for sales figures to see what the usage is .... stolen quote Customs and Revenue spent £192,000 of taxpayers money collecting £48,000 of fuel duty from homebrew biodiesel producers and veggie oil users - a net loss to the taxpayer of £144,000.... It's simply not worth their while collecting it, which is why they introduced the 2,500L exemtion. For the same reason, they aren't bothered about the VAT, which at 17.5% is even less than the fuel duty. For them to actually generate money, there would have to be literally hundreds of thousands of people (if not over a million) using veggie oil, which ain't gonna happen, coz : A) there isn't enough oil to go round and most people carn't be ***** and would rather pay the higher prices at the pumps (yes, they will grumble and moan, but they will still pay....suckers!)
