As I understand it, NPPC rules state that you may only shoot from a hide against defined pest species. Lamping would be out unless by special permission. Suggest you speak to John.

CM,

to send you an email about everything you need to have a good day with regards to pigeon/rabbit shooting would be about very big email.

My advice if your new to the game is keep online and read as much on this forum as you can, yes you do need a gun to start off with, so if you have one of them you can start to get the other items that are required IE, hide, decoys at least 12,and hide poles to set your hide up, something to sit on if you are a softy like me and thats your basics.

You could go and get 200 day with this equipment but very unlikely unless you know what pigeons like to feed on at various times off the year and where they are feeding.

Just keep reading and asking questions, when you have the time get out and watch pigeon movement, one of the first things you will notice is pigeons like to share the same flight lines, sometimes following hedge backs or woodlines.

Take some bino's and watch where they are dropping in to feed, make note of the type of field and from that moment you will know that pigeons in your area are feeding on that type of crop, and will do for many years to come. Its about getting out and gaining as much information about your quarry as you can, try to think like a pigeon/rabbit and your bags will increase as you go along.

Good luck and lets hope your posting some good bag pictures in the future.
