Hunter
But getting a 6'' nail into the foot today from an upturned board with mud on both board and nail, did make me cringe a bit.. Now on regular wipes of Detol (stinks) and check ups to keep an eye out for infection. Il be on the cider tonight to help with the pain, as I had to carry on working 4 hours after said injury B) So please ignore any spelling errors/misguided posts tonight.. Cheers, this one goes to the doctors and scientists who invented Tetanus. Edited February 19, 2008 by Hunter
lurcherboy
Done the same myself Hunter when I was about 12 I jumped out of a window of a deserted house (like you do in the summer holidays) and landed on a floorboard nail. Now although I call it a nail it was in fact the bluntest bit of metal you could find in any piece of wood and it certainly wasn't sharp. At the time it was funny and I demonstrated to the chaps my newly found footwear. I didn't dare tell the parents as they would result in certain pain so two days later I had a foot twice the size of the other and some interesting red lines going up my leg. Hunter
B) Well I have to say so far I think you have had it worse off I would rather a sharp nail then a blunt peice of metal. Did tha turn out as hospital treatment?

JohnGalway
...and some interesting red lines going up my leg. LB Ahh the memories, almost lost a finger/hand/arm to those, depending on which doctor/surgeon/consultant I talked to that day, or to put it another way, which one I ****** off the most the day before
Sundowner
I am the kind of stupid person who (used to) work on building sites running around with trainers or desert boots, I had more rusty nails in my feet then there are in the neighbours fence !!! some went through , some only half way, but I never even went for a tetanus injection !! Now , that was 20 odd year ago. Last year I took the dog for a walk on a country lane just after they had been cutting the hedges. WIth my heavy walking boots on, sole has to be at least half an inch thick ............................but I ended up with a thorn in my foot, and trust me ...................... it bloo*y hurt!!!!! lurcherboy
B) Well I have to say so far I think you have had it worse off I would rather a sharp nail then a blunt peice of metal. Did tha turn out as hospital treatment? Indeed it did Hunter. Before the NHS was deemed to be ineffectual there was a children's hospital at the Oval end of the Clapham Road. I had to confess to my mum that I had stood on something sharp and that it had penetrated my brand new Gola's (£7.99) so after giving me a belting (unable to run away quick enough) she got me a taxi for the 500 yard trip. I then got ####ed by the nurses for not getting medical attention when it happened and ended up spending 3 days there, which was nice as there was no chance of being beaten by parents for having an accident. I would like to say that I can laugh about it now hundreds of years later but I can't. LB
