I'm just about to buy my first gun. After a fair bit of research and testing etc etc I've decided to go for a Beretta 686E 12g MC

Now a bit of advice please...

  • Firstly I'm only a short ar$e and feel that the 28" is better for me but will this put me at a disadvantage, whats 2" between friends?
  • What effect does shorter barrels have?
  • What is a good price for this gun? Cash. :good:

Thanks...

how old is it?

what chokes come with it?

what condition is it in?

Do you get a sleeve as well?

28 inch is fine for all shooting except for extremes, but you have just started, so this is just right.

Great gun the 686.....................I've got one!:hmm:

I've got a mate that managed to pick one up second hand for £650. Blooody bargain if you ask me!! As it's RRP is over £1500 new.

It takes Beretta's Mobil choke system which means you can pick up replacement chokes for £25.

His 686E is a 30" model. I've shot it and it seems to hit em' alright.

A 28" barrel should be quicker to point.

It's a bit lighter than my 682 so it kicks a bit more.

I know it's the guns weight and not the cartridges as he always shoots Eley Olympics or Firsts which is the same as me.

He loves it and he always mananges to match or beat my scores, The ***.

Good Luck!!!!!

Have a looik at Guntrader on the net. The "E" in 686E stands for Economy, so it is the cheapest Beretta O/U of its vintage. You should be able to pick one up for about £350 if you are not worried about some cosmetic flaws.

I been looking at buying a 686E (Sporter) too, but haven't seen anything less than £675

The E I believe stands for "Evolution" http://www.beretta.com/index.aspx?m=74&idc=1&ids=44

Seems to be a good gun what ever your view.

It's a Beretta after all. They don't make ****!!!
