Cranfield
I have never heard that a symptom of ear canker is bad breath, so I would doubt the two are connected. The best thing is to get a Vet to have a look at her. At 6 years old her teeth should be OK, but if you have no knowledge of her diet, or health history, it could be anything. ESS
Hi mate........Take a trip to the vets 1st mate, have her teeth, general health checked out, what is her diet at present ? her stools (poo) solid Try her on a few meaty bones, get some thornit off ebay for her ears for future preference, Get into the habbit of cleaning her teeth / she'll get used to it.............not nice at 1st but for the best mate give us a few more details, hey chin up pal these are great dogs, have fun and put up a few pics Good luck E
russuk
How are her bowels? Is she passing stool as you would expect? Constipation or other bowel issues can be a cause of sever halitosis. I suppose if canker can make the ears pong, then there's nothing stopping the discharge going the opposite way and ending up at the back of the throat, making the pong come from the mouth. Are the teeth in good condition? rotting teeth will stink, as will abscesses and the like. Obvious answer is go to the vets, it's better safe than sorry. rsrjerry
her stools are fine , apart from the canker (which is under control and being treated) and her bad breath she is fine . reason i said maybe the canker ? is cause ear, throat mouth etc all connected ? just a thought . have had a look at her teeth and gums and seem ok , few teeth a bit plaqued up i suppose , but no rotten teeth and cant see any swelling on gums . will take her to vets tomorrow and see what they think / find .she is a cracking little dog full of go i had a springer that had canker once or twice and have a sproker at the moment who has never had it . cheers for all the help and pointers
Sussexboy
This can be due to a build up of bacteria in the flews around the mouth. My springer used to get something similar, it smelt really bad. I used to wipe around her mouth with a bit of kitchen roll dampened with cider vinegar and this seemed to do the trick.
