caspertguk
Right well i am looking to buy an air rifle for myself and for my son to use as his introduction to shooting but am not sure what to get. Am looking at the Lightning XL Tactical or the Scorpion T10. Was origionaly gonna go for the xl cause i have always had springers in the past but have been lured towards a multi shot gas gun. What are the advantages and disadvantages of the both rifles? Which is best? Is there anything better out there on the market for the money? Also as i don't know anything about new air guns what will i need to refill the bottle and is this costly? Could a T10 power upgraded to FAC in the future if i wanted to go down that route? All the help you can give would be very very helpful. Cheers.
tweedledee
go pcp inherently more accurate and virtually recoil less. i think the scorpion does come in fac format and i think it may be a regulated rifle as well.someone else may answer this for you im not really into bsa rifles. definitely go pcp though
monkeyjaimz
It depends what you and your lad are planning on using it for I guess. The T10 is £190 more expensive if you're buying new. Also if you go down the pcp route, you'll need to buy charging gear to fill the rifle, thats around £150-250 unless you buy 2nd hand. So the T10 is going to cost you at least another £340 out right. Both Rifles are similar in weight, length and looks. The other big differance of course is that the T10 will be virtually recoiless and gives you 10 shots via the magazine, whereas the lightning will obviously require cocking for every shot and will recoil. So basically,if you and your lad are thinking of shooting fairly regularly and / or hunting and are ok with the extra expenditure then the T10 would be the one to go for IMO, on the other hand, if you're thinking of just having the occasional day plinking / hunting and the extra expense is a bit much for now then the lghtning is a fine rifle for that. Hope this helps mate
