I think you may have a chance. All you can do is ask, no harm in trying! I got my FAC open after 4 months. Not many people thought that would happen, including myself

Hi,

How did you go about getting your open ticket? Did you just send it off to the FEO with a note?

i got open ticket on 22 rimfire automaticly when i renewed my licence

I got my FAC with a mentor condition on all my guns (.17hmr, .22lr, 6.5x55) at the start of December 07. I got to the point that my mentor thought I was safe on my own and could judge safe/unsafe shots well enough to decide for myself. I sent in a note asking for the mentor to be removed, to add a .223 and to get my certificate opened. I got the rimfires open and the .223/6.5x55 restricted to cleared land. Simple really

I'm from the US, and I'm not trying to be political, so if this post is taken that way, feel free to move/delete it moderators. After reading here for a couple weeks or so, I'm amazed (not in a good or bad way, just as an observation) the hoops people go through in other countries. It's very interesting being from the outside looking in.
