Cranfield
I have installed an XP upgrade over a corrupt ME system. There have been a few problems with compatability, printer, mouse etc. But, I seem to have resolved most of them, by downloading new drivers etc. A strange situation remains. I can,t use smilies, not just on this site, but anywhere. If I click on a smilie, nothing happens. For example if I click on the basic smilie opposite, I get the following, in the space at the bottom of the screen (above the task bar)," java script:emoticon("") ". The bit in the brackets is the semi colon and bracket, not the smiling face. Any ideas ? Obviously something needs "turning on".

Cranfield
anthony, I have put PigeonWatch and some others in to my "Trusted Sites" and it still doesn,t work. I have been back tracking over the amendments and upgrades I have made in the last couple of days, to try to find where I have accidently affected it. Its not of major importance, its just irritating.
Cranfield
Martin, I,ve thought about it, but I have amended so much and downloaded new drivers etc. I would hate to have to go through it all again. Its taken me almost 4 days, on and off, sorting the mess out. The basics are working fine (fingers crossed), its just the small things now.
