malkiserow
Or modify a spinning wing dove........... First take your £5 spinning wing dove from the USA Make mounting bracket .... I made a load these a while back dead quick from scraps of Ali welded up (just a 2.5mm small flat plate with a predrilled 16mm bar welded on, then tap the thread for your tightening screw - I need to add a "T" to mine rather than use an allen key to tighten up) make a jacket out of roofing felt - rot proof etc...Also matt so as not to shine like the original plastic Spray can from Wilcos .... no need for grey ..... just buy black and go easy for the grey bits - heavy for black tail..mask neck white patches with offcuts temporarily stapled on Make your shape to give a landing pigeon tail ...ie. fan shape not the original dove skinny tail Sew up tail to make a pocket to locate on plastic original wrap neck part of jacket around pigeons pastic neck and glue down at the front I will paint the beak yellowish next now go shooting !!!!!! pics below .......................... Teal
A good piece of DIY, one reservation I have about this product is the amount of shine that will be given off if the weather conditions are anything other than dry and overcast. Look forward to hearing how you get on!

starlight32
An excellent job. I am just curious if you had building control take a look at this before you completed this fine bit of work. You may have to go back put some underlay on under the felt to keep with current regs
malkiserow
A good piece of DIY, one reservation I have about this product is the amount of shine that will be given off if the weather conditions are anything other than dry and overcast. Look forward to hearing how you get on! The roofing felt is perfect for not shinning...... the wings spin anyway so cannot see that being a problem, the head is exposed and may shine I suppose..... we will see. My first trial had the pigeons facinated and trying to landing up close ..... More trials needed this week cheers for the kind comments lads Malk
nelsonbernardo
why you don't use a flocked pigeon???with the dove's wings??? less trouble...i think. any way good job i pay £50 for a pair of air pros and they only work well over winter rape. good luck
malkiserow
why you don't use a flocked pigeon???with the dove's wings???less trouble...i think. any way good job i pay £50 for a pair of air pros and they only work well over winter rape. good luck Hi Nelson, Because I don't have a flocked pigeon so would have to buy one extra, I have shells but they won't work because of the clamp for the magnet. The Jacket is easy to do and the idea was to be cheap and effective. A flocked pigeon may look better to us but not sure it can make it more effective... cheers
