A sporter is generally a sporting clays gun. The main difference is in the weight. The field model is usually marginally lighter for lugging about, whilst the sporter has a little more weight to compensate for the repeated recoil of shooting 100+ shots as you might well do at a clay shoot. - if you're a big strong lad it shouldnt be an issue. Also a sporter is likely to be a multichoke so you can spend hours working out which choke to use....:yp: I use a sporter (Ultra XS) for clays pigeons and allsorts

Thanks guys

PM funny you should mention the chokes been set 1/4 & 1/2 ,he insisted on using 3/4 & full & struggled a bit as i presume you have to be more accurate,i told him to try 1/4 & 1/2 & he started dropping a lot more.

so ovverall he loves the gun.
