benelli 1 Posted May 1, 2008 Report Share Posted May 1, 2008 Calling on all owners of a PS3 (40gb) Having not seen one in the flesh yet, does this one have the same black gloss finish as the other models? and also what is the trim colour on the front? Only asking cos when I was looking at them earlier on't tinternet, it's got this model marked up as a 'Matte' finish. And now while I'm on the subject, what is your view of it in general? cleaner4hire Posted May 1, 2008 Report Share Posted May 1, 2008 Ive got a 60 gb PS3. When i was looking at em they all appeared to be shiny black ie the same. However they do scratch ridiculously easily so it may be an aftermarket thing? If it is then i need one too for when i sell mine lol Its a good bit of kit though and the Blue ray is an excellent player. Just make sure you buy COD4 !! cleaner4hire Posted May 2, 2008 Report Share Posted May 2, 2008 (edited) no the 40gb's wont play ps2 games. when sony replaced the 60gb with the 40gb they removed the ability to play ps 2 games, gave it a smaller hard drive and removed 2 usb ports and the card reader. When it came though, it was high gloss like the original 60 Gb. The lack of PS2 compatibility didn't matter to me as I don't have any of those games.
