hawaii
Hello I'm new to this site and pigeon shooting but I have a problem with the vast number of pigeons in Nottingham city centre. I have a city flat with a roof terrace and was wondering if it is possible to shoot pigeons from there using an air rifle? Obviously I don't want the police turning up every time I put on my combats so would greatly appreciate any advice given. Cranfield
The commonsense answer to your question is no, find somewhere else to shoot. However, if you go to your local Police Station with the following information, they may be able to give you more specific help. The exact location and dimensions of the area you wish to shoot over. Its ownership. The distance from the nearest public highway. A safety appraisal from a shooting perspective. The weapon you wish to use. Details of the quarry, ferals or wild birds. Reasons for wishing to shoot them, damage caused etc. I would suggest you allow a full day for your visit, as you may be there some time. Roger_Rabbit
The answer is .... NO .. NO .. NO. Cranfield is correct about a full's days visit .... Although you have a problem .. the ownership belongs to the Council. Break the council's rules and reg's .. expect a weighty visit from god !!!! Identify the birds :- Woodies, feral or racers ? IF you are tempted to take a pot shot and kill a racer (even though it's gone feral) you are well and truely in the ****. Don't do it .... find somewhere away from the public. Ever had your front door smashed in by the Armed Response Unit ?? (of course not)
hawaii
Thanks for your advice guys! The armed response scenario doesn't sound like much fun so I think I'll just stick to trying to run them over in my car. A+ Hawaii
