stuey
Got a CZ 452 .17HMR 16" barrel model fitted with an ASE moderator. Thinking of getting a DM80 to quieten it down even more. When fitted, how much barrel is showing from the end of the wood to the start of the Moderator? Any other comments welcome. regards Stu
silver_fox
Don't waste your money, I don't think that a DM80 is going to make enough difference to justify the cost.

THEINVISIBLESCARECROW
Silver fox is rite Stuey, there's nowt you can do about the crack of the round flying through the air.. Might sound daft but you'll be just as well off with a Sak on the HMR.
rubberlegs
hi just put a dm80 on my cz .17hmr and got rid of my sak and would say the dm80 seems to soften the sound in a different way not a lot more reduction in noise than the sak but looks the mutts nuts over barrel and is about 2 and a half times longer but adds just 2 inches to overall length.my sak use to leak gas out the **** end from new so i guess its up to you but love my dm
stuey
got an ASE on at the moment so it looks like the DMN80 isn't going to give much of an improvement. Does look the bizz though!!! regards Stu
crieffy
The DM80 is very slightly quieter than the ASE, but a hell of a lot easier to clean. I'm now using a Sak as I prefer the balance with it fitted. I don't think it makes any difference what you use as far as the bunnies are concerned though John
JRDS
I have used both and would say the ASE is the best I have used purely for sound reduction. DM80 has it on looks and added length and is still very good at reduction. Edited May 20, 2008 by JRDS
stuey
well looks like the 80 odd quid will have to go into the 204 ruger+scope fund. Now who was it that had a contact for leupolds cheap from the states!?!? regards stu
