webber
I am considering organising a syndicate day at Hodnet for members of our syndicate and possibly a few friends. The read up sounds great. I shot at Hodnet once, many years ago, not long after I started shooting. Shall we just say that my score was less than satisfactory. I wondered if any members had experienced a syndicate day at Hodnet, and what your experience and feelings where? webber
Catamong
Hi Webber, I've not shot a corporate or "syndicate" day there, but I'm sure they'll look after you very well, facilities are excellent, I would suggest booking well in advance, because I know these days are very popular. I have shot many major Sporting shoots there since the mid 80's and every one has been truly superb, in my opinion it's the best Sporting ground in the country, (and I've been to a few). Cat. Mr Potter
Evening Mr Webber, Hope you are feeling better, will PM or ring you soon to catch up. Hodnet (WMSG) is absolutely the dogs danglers. I haven't been on any of the "syndicate" days myself but I've shot quite a few competitions there over the years. It must be one of the best grounds in the UK in every respect, the grounds (topography & landscape) the targets, deceptive but all hittable and the organisation is second to non especially for the big shoots. Like Fenntay said, the usual format is 150 birds split morning and afternoon, not cheap but I'll eat my hat if your not impressed. You need to check but I don't think they shoot these practise days on a Sunday, the website will probably advise. I'm sure they would let you use the quad or gator to get round if your still recuperating, nothing appears to be too much trouble for Tom (owner) and his team. When you organise it, if it you need to make the numbers up I'd jump at the chance to join you for the day. Regards Mr Potter
