lewis
Also if it gets older and keeps doing it bite it on the muzzle sharply. Although they usually grow out of it, mine did
Spaniel
Hi I remember how those teeth felt, like little kneedles I have been lucky with my springer pup as she does not bite, but with the other one i just kept telling her No, and to be honest i gave her one of those puppy bones to bite/chew on which saved my fingers and toes. Cheers Ian
WGD
I'm with Ian, give it something to keeps it's chops occupied, like a nylabone. WGD

WGD
Never really got to grips with the "bite it back" philosophy; I'm assured it works but any pups I've had can move their jaws to nip me an awful lot quicker than I can get latched onto them. elmer_fudd
Yes, teeth can be a pain just like needles All puppies will bite its part of their playful nature, usually though this will be with brothers and sisters and they will bite back. Most puppies will stop this when they get older or you have no shoes left in the house. My only advice as said before is give her a decent chew to get the teeth into (the smoked bone type from pet shops are also good, last a bit longer and will get her used to handling larger odd shaped objects) I have never hit or smacked a dog and do not condone it, but one thing that sometimes works once they get older, is if she is trying to chew your hand, do not pull away, simply and gently just press down on the back of the tongue with a finger. (it will make her gag a little and she will soon spit it out - so to speak) Always works for me, might not work for you? who knows. Elmer. jerico
Hold it between your legs just under it's armpits and bend over, stand up really quick and let go! Lil ****** cant bite you when he's 30ft up a blooming tree (I know most of you are doing the actions now so tell whome-ever walks in that your playing with your kyber) Edited June 28, 2008 by jerico

taz24
If you yelp like a dog would, the puppy soon learns that it is hurting you and will control the biting itself. The occasional bite back as a reminder who is boss will also reinforce your authority as pack leader. taz Edited June 29, 2008 by taz24
