A123
Hello All, I think the red currants in my garden are nearly ready to eat, they taste ok, not sure if i should leave them longer though as i couldnt find anything online with regards as to what time of year they are ripe. But last October i made sloe gin for the first time and i was thinking about doing something similar with the red currants this year, but again i couldnt find any recipes, any ideas guys? Any desert recipes would also be very welcome? Thanks guys

henry d
Wait until the birds have eaten them....... thats when they are at their ripest. Seriously, the time the birds start to eat them is a good indicator.
