racer132
Hi all, Going to France on holiday next month and just got my European Firearms Pass through the door today so can now take my shotgun with me (we are staying on a farm) question is can i use the firearms pass to buy cartridges over there or should i take enough with me ? Was also thinking about taking my Air Arms 410 classic with me, anyone know of any restrictions regarding air rifles over there? Thanks Dave
steve_b_wales
There should be details of all your guns etc on the pass. Why don't you take your certificate as well. You should be able to purchase cartridges using that.
racer132
Hi, Thanks for the reply, my shotgun details are of course on the European Firearms pass however I dont think the air rifle needs to be on the European Firearms pass as its not an FAC rifle. im just not sure of any laws/restrictions in France regarding the use of air rifles. I think i will take cartridges with me just in case, and then also try to buy some and see what happens, at least i will know for next time. Scarpa
I saw this posted on an airgun forum. <<<The maximum power for air rifles in France without some kind of license is 10 joules, which is just over 7 ft lbs (1 Joule = 0.737562149 ft lbs). >>> Also Germany has a lower limit - I seem to remember something about 8 ft lbs.
