Axe
If you do a search, you'll find Deben ranks the top of the list. Which one you get is down to choice but I went for the Max Pro. The largest of the Deben lamps but light weight and has a good cast on the beam even under a red filter.
scout
I use the atom, very pleaased with it, ideal even with a red filter for the air rifle, struggles a bit with the filter on for the rimfire, but fine without the filter. Battery life is great and a nice tight beam.
cocky.22
Hi scout what is your cz like for shooting bunnies eg-range cost of ammo
Axe
My Quad is zeroed at 60yards and out to 75-80 yards comfortably after which you need to be choice about your shots out to 100yards. Last time I calculated it, it was 5p a shot. Downside to the LR is the ricochet, it has a habbit of skipping off of most things, water , hard ground, even a rabbits head. But given suitable surroundings, a very versatile tool indeed.
cocky.22
That sounds ok to me it's just where i shoot, sometimes the bunnies sit bang in the middle of the fareway just too far away for my air rifle!!!!
Axe
If I knew then what I knew now I would have an FAC Airgun & .17HMR and forget about the .22LR. I'm not saying the ,22LR isn't worth it but in my circumstance and without the open ticket, .22LR doesnt get used.

peacey
If I knew then what I knew now I would have an FAC Airgun & .17HMR and forget about the .22LR. I'm not saying the ,22LR isn't worth it but in my circumstance and without the open ticket, .22LR doesnt get used. I agree with you on that one about the rimfire not getting used. I applied for a FAC air rifle and my FLO said to apply for rimfire too, which I did. Saw the price of the CZ and thought its cheaper than FAC air rifle and jumped in and got one. Since then I've got an FAC Superten and the rimfire never gets used, a good rifle and still plays a part, but resigned to the cabinet. The FAC air rifle is a superb bit of kit By the way I have the scope mounted deben mini tracer with dimmer on it and it's really good Edited July 21, 2008 by peacey

Axe
Well i'm an avid fan of the .17HMR. It flies fast and flat, in essence, your point of aim doesn't change from 30 yards out to 120. In other words put the cross hair on target and pull the trigger. With a little hold over you could quite happily push your shots out to 175+. Its not quiet though, in terms of sound, I liken it to a loud slap that you would get from slapping a ruler on a desk, when moderated. It delivers enough power to take a fox out to 100yards for a reliable shot and is affordable to run. It is also very accurate due to its speed 2550fps and will happily one shot rabbit heads on a par 5 whole. There is a warning that should be adhered to with the HMR, it makes you a lazy shot, any HMR owner will reluctantly admit to this. However, I haven't yet met an HMR owner that can't smile with each and every gratifying shot. Its available in both a 17grain Ballistic Tip and 20 grain Hollow Point. I use the V-max ballistic tip which also gives a much safer round in comparison to the .22LR. the V-Max round breaks very quickly on hitting its contact, thus making ricochet almost existent. Its quite a distance from airgun shooting, be warned of an ensuing 'I want' if you go out with a mate who has one.

Axe
Well fortunately for you, you have to have a Firearms Certificate first, so that will stop any impulse purchases. :yp:
