*****BE WARNED THIS IS A SCAM*****

this is a copy of an email i received via another forum (airgunner) and would warn any one who receives a mail similar to this to ignore and report the sender to any moderators.

this email was sent from "XXMAN_2@YAHOO.COM

Hello Rob,

Thanks for the mail. I will like to make an offer for

£120. I will like to proceed with payment and shipping

arrangement. I'll need you to provide me with your

name, address and phone number to send payment to through

bank draft. Once these details are provided, i will

forward to my business associate there in UK to issue

a UK bank draft in your name on the amount he's

oweing me (£2,550) Once the draft clears your bank,

deduct cost of the bushnell 3-9x40 and the excess

funds to be sent over to the transporter that will be

coming for the pick up. and also deduct £30 for your

troubles when sending the excess funds.

Please let me know if my proposal is accepted.

Thanks,

James

As far as im aware the way the scams work is they pay you the bankers draft for £2500 you clear the bankersdraft and take out the payment for the goods and issue a cheque for the outstanding ballance, which their courier picks up along with the goods. once the cheque has clearded and funds gone from your bank account, the bankser draft is found to be invalid EVEN though it has clearded all bank checks! which means your (usually put into the red) out of pocket £2500 as well as any goods you have sent off!!!!

if you get an email similar to the one above it delete and report sender to mods

PS mods if i have put this in the wrong place sorry but thought sellers shoud know the scams are finding thier way into shooting now as well :D please move to relavent section and delete this bit.

all the best

ROB

Most e-mails that reply to adverts on the web that come from a source at Yahoo.com are spam.

I recently advertised some tyres on a 4x4 website and got nothing but junk from yahoo.com e-mails in Africa. The buyers, I use the term loosely, wanted the condition and lowest price I would take for the items I was selling.

You just get the hump with it after a while.
