jonathanelliot
Answers to some questions: 1) I am in Wakefield, West Yorkshire where any machine can be collected from 2) I am not posting anything - sorry - this is due to damages arising and then the 'it wasn't me' scenario - no thanks. If you wish to send a private courier that is up to you, but the responsibility for damage in transit is yours ! 3) I have not had the chance to fill my profile out, and for those who will rest easier, I will, when I get a minute with nothing more productive to do. I agree without this information it's hard to judge whether you can collect or not - fair point and taken on board. 4) I do not sell 'a little hot' or stolen laptops, everything is password free with a written and signed receipt provided. Any minor faults will be clearly described. I repair IT equipment for Wakefield Council and have been in the IT game for 17 years now. Most laptops I currently have had either smashed screens or faulty inverter boards - which are now fully repaired. Some may not hold a charge, but work fine from the mains supply. Putting an £80 battery is not economically viable for obvious reasons. I am happy to do this at the buyers expense though if required. If you want Linux installed instead that's no problem. I am NOT a trader, this is personal stock I have had given or bought cheaply then sourced parts, repaired and tested. Some I have had for over a year now so I am clearing out a little that's all. I hope that answers most peoples questions. I will post up a list later of all laptops with full specs and condition etc.

jonathanelliot
Taking a little longer than anticipated to compile this list. I am noting down any minor cracks or scratches to any plastic covers or parts as well as recording the serial number and a very detailed spec of the machines. I may have one or three base units too I will describe and offer for sale. I am awaiting parts for two laptops. Finally A very important note is the fact I repair and maintain well over 1000 laptops/PC's within the education authority I keep all accident damaged machines that are deemed BER (Beyond Economical Repair) for the casings and still functional parts etc. Sometimes I have used a casing to repair one of my own laptops and it will be security etched with the Councils postcode etc. I can prove beyond all doubt I work for the Authority and am not selling 'hot' or in any way stolen equipment from the Council. These are written off and used as spares only. As I stated previously everything I sell will be sold with a signed receipt as proof of ownership. Quite often this will mean the serial number on the casing will not match the one in the BIOS simply because the parts are from different machines but the same series. Everything will be sold as seen with no postage. You are most welcome to fully test a machine until you are satisfied but once the machine leaves me it is yours. I am not selling faulty goods, they go on Ebay as spares only, everything is repaired and bench tested for a minimum of 8 hours, but run as a hobby not a profit making enterprise I cannot offer a warranty. The prices though reflect this. If this bothers anyone, please do not buy from me.
