HaveToShoot
Hi My MK II flappers are getting quite noisy even with oiling the shafts while on as per mfg's instructions. The housing is riveted and wondering if anyone has drilled these out to clean/lube the inside an replaced rivets with self tappers? Its getting annoying listeneing to that all day
steve_b_wales
If it's sounding noisy, it could be a sign of damage being caused. I had one a few years ago that was noisy, and lasted 7 months. I had it replaced for a 'better one' as the company told me. If your's is not under guarantee, you could drill the rivets out and take a look inside. I don't think the noise will affect the birds coming in to it, because if they get that close, they should be close enough to shoot.
Cranfield
I would move it further from the hide, until I couldn't hear it. Best idea is to contact the Supplier and ask their opinion, it will probably depend on which model you have, as to what can be done.
