ccairns
I would appreciate some advice. I am taking the leap into the hushpower world. Mossberg pump..but.. 20 or 12 bore. Currently swaying for the 20 as quieter. I've seen some reviews of the 12... anyone got experience of the 20?? Cheers C
vole
I was going to get one in s/b but 20g sub sonics seemed hard to get where I am. Only a thought.
sitsinhedges
20G is the ideal compromise between .410 and 12g IMO, most clay clubs sell 20g subsonics for beginners and you can still use quite a heavy cartridge for when needs must. ccairns
Thanks. Have a 12 bore silver pigeon that very happy with. So 20 bore makes sense in adding something different to the selection. Noise is the big issue to the 20 seems to have the edge there. 24g and 28g 7.5s in sub sonic seem available from eley. drut
If noise is a big issue, the single barrel Hushpowers are noticeably quieter than the pump.
luckytrigger
I use a .410 hushpower pump for ratting and although very effective and great fun to use it is a little on the heavy/unbalanced side. I would think a 12g hushpower would be even heavier and unbalanced?
drut
Out of all the Hushpowers I have tried (Baikal 12g,Mossberg 12g,Remington 1100,Pedretti 12g & .410) the Pedretti is,to me,the best balance/feel wise although I have no respect for its build quality!I would like to try a Laporte o/u but baulk at their£1175 R.R.P. Unfortunately most places where I shoot I would be unable to use an unsilenced shotgun.
vole
Saddlery and Gunroom have been selling a 20g 0/u Investarm. I handled one and like my 12g Pedretti seems almost normal gun length, balance etc.
