PERCE
I've been thinking about getting one of these as I do a lot of walking up & down hills shooting mostly rabbits & I've been finding the Browning I currently own a bit on the heavy side. What are they like to use on a regular basis? Do they last as long & work as well as a Silver Pigeon?
HW682
I can't answer your question directly, but by coincidence I was reading this review a short time ago. Hopefully it might be of interest until you get any better replies with first hand experience. http://www.sportinggun.co.uk/guns/145875/B...gun_review.html
Dirty Harry
I was looking at one the other day. It was a few hundred quid more than the standard silver pigeon and about 2-300 grammes less weight. I dont think it's so much different to worry about. PUSC
the old chairman of the club bought one and it does the job. but had a noticeable amount more kick to it than the silver pigeon seem to wid 28g loads so i wasnt really impressed (as i was only shooting clays at the time, but not a noticeable amount lighter either just seemed a bit economically put together)
WGD
I tried one a couple of weeks ago, and my mate's just bought it - it was SH but had been bought for an OH who never used it, so in effect a new gun. If I had the money I'd have bought it but hey ho. The gun is noticabely lighter than my Silver Pigeon but it does recoil more with a 28g load, this will be even more noticable if you go to heavier game loads.. For walked up shooting where you are getting relatively few shots on a day out it would be a lovely gun I think, the increased recoil will not bother you over a few shots and the lighter weight gun will be noticable over the course of the day. I would not use one for driven shooting or clays where lots of shots will be fired... that would end up in a sore shoulder. Hope this helps. chippy18
I have been using one for a long time and they are superb. I mostly put 30/32g 6 through mine and i don't find any problems with recoil. I had a silver pig and i definitely think you can notice the difference if you are doing a lot of walking. Mine is the De luxe Game model but a mate of mine shoots the classic version and that is also superb. All in all they are superb.
