vole
My new JR pup is due 2nd jabs and I am told we cant walk her until 10 after that. I have been taking her out in the car and carry her up and down the walk I will do with her, avoiding dogs of course. has she got any protection at all of the first jabs? How big is the risk of her catching something? Cheers!
garyb
Take her out.. The risk of catching anything these days is so remote, the benefits of early socializing far exceed any risk. I had my cocker out from 10 weeks IIRC
tomleatel
I've got a 14 week old cocker, and have had him out since 10 weeks. No problems at all, just keep an eye on the other dogs
al4x
I'll change the opinion, in that to me its not worth taking them out till after the second Jab, taking them to other peoples houses / gardens is one thing walking down the street is another. Don't forget some of the things your dog can catch such as Leptospirosis are carried by rats and can be passed on by contact with rat ****. Its really not worth it for the sake of an extra fortnight playing in the house / your own garden
vole
Cheers fellers and sorry to have put this in the wrong section too. I possibly would take her down the road on a lead but my mrs reminds me she pays for the jabs and would never forgive me if she picked up something. Cant wait to take her up the field but think will keep her on a lead because she is under our shed like a flash so rabbit holes would be too tempting. Thanks again.
