markbivvy
To thank. Magman snr and Jnr for a great day yesterday. Rob and Jay turned up at about dinner time Saturday with some much needed supplie,s. first little outing was for young Jay to have a go with the rimmie and the hornet. put him some targets up at about 40 yds and let him have a go of the magtech semmi, the look in his eyes said it all, and he proved to be as good as his old man on the shooting front hitting all the was asked of him. Next was his go with the hornet and at the same distance never missed a target with any shot. Excellent shooting to say it was his first go with this rifle. evening came and it was dads go, first out of the bag was the 17 hmr, sitting in the motor in a field just waiting for things to apear first bunny showed on dry stone wall which rob missed straight away, (told him to give the rifle to jay to do it),Turned out to be the only shot he missed all night. muttering to himself he took aim and got it the second time right bewteen the eyes about 80 yds out, rabiits 2 and 3 got the same. Then it was lamp out and the 223.s turn. a short drive down the found 2 foxes browsing some bracken, first one started coming towards us then did one, fox number 2 just stood and watched, rob put the scope on it and sent the round on its way, with a bone crunching wack it was down, found it at about 160/170 yds out with no head left, a very good shot. pulled on to the next farm about 50 yds down the road, seen a fox at about 400 yds of and started calling it with robs home made fox call( pm him not me.) as he was calling this one a fox we had not seen walked past the front of the motor about 10 yards in front of us and jumped over the wll. me and rob was out of the front and young jay nearly pulled the back door of to get out, but the near fox had legged it so we was back onto the first one we had seen. Rob had his call out in a blur and was blowing like a good un, in it came at a right pace and just stood there at about 150 yds,I told rob to take the shot of my shoulder which he did and number 2 hit the dust, seen 3 more on this farm but they did not want any. then to Jays delight it was onto the off roading centre. this place has had crown men wetting there pants as i drive it with no light and just us the lamp for seeing, no foxes there but jay had a good time. I would like to thenk bith rob and jay for a good day and hope we do it again soon. thanks lads. DaveK
Taking a youngster round the 4x4 centre in the dark with no headlights (and I assume at the usual 50mph over bumps) is child abuse. You shouldn't do that to Rob Nice shooting mr magman
