Gonna Shoot a Wabbit
Well gents i have almost get her zero'd. I shot this group 60yds (without set trigger) and gave one more click left, i have a question for you more experienced centrfire riflemen if you will indulge me. The .223 zero'd at 100yds, shot at 60yds hits 1/2-3/4 inch low. Now my question is this. Obviously my next step is to move the range out to 100yds on a still day but our 60yds range is in a wood so the wind isn't a factor which is why i am shooting at 60yds at the moment. Ballistically is the .243 a similar trajectory to the .223 in that if the .223 hits slightly low at 60yds and is dead on at 100yds should i expect anything drastic when i take the .243 out to 100yds after shooting it and it grouping slightly low at 60yds. Many thanks. GSAW

bullet boy
I`d say take the target out to 100 yards then see what you think.
Bleeh
I hate zeroing larger rifles. The gun dosn't go *bang* just a ''Chur-ching* sound, as you feel your wallet get lighter and lighter Edited October 7, 2008 by Bleeh
steve b
you will be fine setting a target at 100 you will strike higher as the round is still rising but only slightly higher steve b

Gonna Shoot a Wabbit
Thanks gents. I am getting into reloading indeed. Dead eye duck on here is a very experienced re loader. I have seen his re loads used to good effect in the .223 over many years and now i am branching into centrefire territory he is going to teach me the ropes. Good Grief £20 a box is motivation enough to learn the art of reloading without the added benefit of superior accuracy thrown in for good measure Off to scotland on sunday will keep you all posted on the results when i get back on tuesday rgds GSAW
