Whitebridges
A mate and I had a fish from Dunwich beach on Wednesday, First trip of the Autumn/Winter season and I landed my best codling off the beach for a few years. Aldeburgh and Orford are fishing very well and the signs are right for a very good season on the east coast. How's it fishing in your neck of the woods? Here's my fish, it weighed in at 6lb 2oz, It was caught on a mix of frozen black lug and fresh and it tasted bloody delicious. Cheers, time to polish the gear if you like a bit of sea fishing off the land. Edited October 18, 2008 by Whitebridges

JR1960
Fished Gt Yarmouth last night with the boy, he got three whiting and a dab and i got a boat, smashed my beachcaster and broke the handle off my reel. What these to**ers think they're doing trawling up and down that close into the beach at night is beyond me. Nice fish BTW especially this early on in the season, i see the evening news were saying there were some big catches of large whiting on N Norfolk coast, can anyone confirm? Whitebridges
Nice What tackle did you use? I use Mag-elite ABU multipliers down the butt. Centrury CCCLD rods. 15lb main line, 80lb leader and a 4/0 pennel rig.

That's bloody ridiculous! I've had 'em come close at Kessingland and Southwold but never got caught on one. As it was dark I suppose you didn't get his number or identify the boat? The boats at Southwold killed the sole fishing this year. They were trawling between the high and low water mark. Thanks, I was pleased with it. Best one for a few seasons. N Norfolk has now picked up. Last year and the year before there were some clonking whiting (over 2lb) and Dabs caught along the shingle from Cley to Sheringham Old High. I have a mate you lives at Weybourne and the fish arrived this week in numbers. Edited October 19, 2008 by Whitebridges
