I bought a new lanber auto last month just to (dare i say it...) throw in the truck whenever i went out to feed up in case of the odd fox/squirrel/magpie had the stupidity to stick there head out.

I bought it new and i see its on lanbers main website yet doing a search i cant see anything about anyone having 1 over here in the uk or any reviews etc.

Almost appears i have the only one in the uk!!! :good:

It aint a bad gun in my eyes and cheap!Takes 3" magnums if needed and multichoked.Fitted with sling swivels as standard etc.

Havent had any problems so far with it.Recycled all the odds and sod makes of cartridges i had laying around in the truck etc ok altho they where all 28gram +.

Pattern tested it and it shoots 60% high so would make a reasonable clay gun.Not badly finished in anyway altho the wood is a little plain.

Was bringing down flighting teal at 40yds with 1/2 choke etc ok (no4 steel shot) without problems amongst other things.

Ah so there are some in existerance around then lol

Ive never had a problem with the weight of guns so i dont notice it tbh.Looking at the weight its only 6.8ib tho.It was just bought to use as a cheap gun whilst on my own when feeding up etc and not worrying about knocking or scratching it.

I use a 32" browning trap gun (9ibs) for normal shooting when in company and walking around with others whilst bird shooting.

I 'owned' a Lanber semi-auto for about 3 hours. I purchased it at Litts@the Sportsman Newport. I had ordered an FAC version and was given this gun as an FAC. When I went to use it on the farm, I found that it was only a standard 3 shot gun. I fired quite a few cartridges through it before taking it back, to see what it was like. To be honest, I thought it was terrible. It had a 'plastic' stock, was very light, and had a lot of recoil. I was using 65mm 28gram cartridges in it. Admittedly I only had a T-shirt on, but I did feel the recoil.

I took it back to 'Litts' and, after complaining that they sold me the wrong gun, I said that I did not want the FAC version. Instead I ordered (and still waiting for-3 weeks later) an Escort magnum FAC 5 shot ( extension tube available to make it 7+1)

This is £245 cheaper than the Lanber, and, although Lanber is a good make (I have an O/U) the Escort will suit my needs.

The lanber is scary when it comes to how they restrict it to the 3 shot side. Its certainly not ideal!!!!! Best i dont say anymore than that.Mines a 5 shot.

I havent suffered any kick whatsoever.Ive got the wood stock version tho.

I got a good deal by the sounds of things as i paid similar price to a new hatsan escort.Im quite lucky tho the 3 gunshops near me all know me pretty well so tend to get some good deals.

The price I was quoted (and paid) for the Lanber was £595. I was told that it was their latest version. I'm not sure what the model was. It had a very cheap plastic stock. If it had been wood, I probably would have kept it.

Still waiting for the Escort FAC. Problems with Edgar Brothers, telling me one thing and then another. Not happy at all  :good:
